The University of Connecticut (UConn) is the state's flagship university. The main campus, located in Storrs, is a rural/suburban area. Storrs is approximately an hour and a half from Boston, and three hours from New York City. In addition to the main campus, UConn has five regional campuses located in Groton (Avery Point), Hartford, Stamford, Torrington, and Waterbury, Schools of Law, Social Work, Medicine, and Dentistry. The Main Campus at Storrs offers 100 different majors throughout nine different schools and colleges. There are about 25,000 students, of which, about 2,000 are international students representing over 100 countries. With over 500 clubs, Division I athletics, and countless activities, students enjoy participating in numerous activities on campus.
