2013年8月29日の夕方、日米教育委員会（フルブライト・ジャパン）　留学情報サービス/EducationUSAでは、ゲストスピーカーに Ms. Danielle Jervis & Mr Jason Lawrence, Associate Directors - Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) を迎えて、スペシャルセッション「ビジネススクール留学準備セミナー」を開催いたしました。

ビジネススクールへの留学を考えた時・・・

まずはじめにすることは、"Research"。　"Reseach"には、学校の情報収集がありますが、それにあたって、まず「なぜビジネススクール進学を希望するのか？」、「短期/長期キャリアゴールは？」といった目的を踏まえて考えましょう　というお話でした。

のウェブサイトが便利。

学校選択する際のアドバイスとして、各大学のキャリアセンターがどのようなサービスを提供しているのか、同窓会活動（例えば著名な卒業生がいる大学で、その卒業生と実際にコミュニケーションをとる機会があるのか、ないのか）などについても、ご自身のニーズにあわせてリサーチするとよいでしょう　というお話でした。

ビジネススクールは、出願者に対し、リーダシップ能力/可能性、特定の分野に関する知識、コミュニケーション能力　などを要求します。

ビジネススクール出願時には、「いかに自分が学校の要求する能力を備えているのか」という点を、どのように伝えられるのかを戦略的に考えて、エッセイなど作成しましょうというアドバイスを頂きました。

さて、ビジネススクールの入学の際に要求されるGMAT。
GMATは、90カ国以上2000校を超えるビジネススクールに利用されているテストで、受験料は、$250。

月1回のみ受験可、また1年間に通算5回まで受験可。
（GMATを複数回受検する人の割合は、全体の20%で、平均30点、2回目以降の点数が上がっているそうです。）

GMATのスコアは、200-800点で、平均スコアは、544点。
テストスコアは、5年間有効。

GMATは、Computerized adaptive test（CAT)で、受験者の回答の正誤パターンによって、難易度の異なる出題がされる形式のテスト。

GMATは、以下、4つのセクションから成り立っています
1. Analytical Writing Assessment Section
2. Integrated Reasoning Section
3. Quantitative Section
4. Verbal Section

GMAT600点以上取得者は、約100時間、GMAT対策に時間を費やしたという調査があるそうです。GMATテスト対策には、GMACで出しているOfficial Guideや、各種オンライン教材が有効とのこと。

GMAT受験の際の最も気をつけるべきことは・・・"Time Management"とのことでした。

Postgrad: Drexel University Business Doctoral Scholarships for International Students
Drexel University's LeBow College of Business Ph.D. programs offer full scholarships and stipends for International Students.

With a long and rich history of excellence through academics and research, LeBow College of Business offers a Ph.D. in Economics and a Ph.D.  in Business with specializations ranging from Accounting, Decision Sciences, Finance, Marketing, and Organization and Strategy. The Ph.D. programs at LeBow College of Business prepare doctoral students to become outstanding scholars and inspiring teachers. Doctoral students are assigned a combination of teaching and research responsibilities. UG: Saint Joseph's University New Undergraduate Merit Scholarships
Saint Joseph's University is implementing test-optional undergraduate admission and merit scholarships, effective for fall 2014 applicants. Test-optional means that the University will not require applicants to submit a standardized test score (SAT/ACT) in order to be considered for admission and some merit scholarships, if they do not believe the scores are an accurate indicator of their academic ability and potential for future academic success. Proof of English proficiency will still be required from countries where English is not the official language. 

Traditional merit scholarships range from $2,500 to $16,000 per year. Full-tuition or special interest scholarships may still require SAT or ACT submission.

Monmouth College welcomes applications for the spring semester 2014 as well as the academic year 2014-15 (beginning fall 2014). We have music performance scholarships as well as merit scholarships (for first year and transfer international students).

Monmouth College is a selective, private, residential liberal arts & sciences college of 1350 students and 100 faculty in west central Illinois. Monmouth was founded in 1853. The college is located in a small town in the beautiful, safe and affordable Midwest. Our new scholarships for first-year international students living on campus have been increased to up to $17,500 USD per academic year (half tuition).  Students will be considered for scholarships at the time of application and are not required to fill out a separate scholarship application.  There is no limit to number of scholarships that can be awarded.
