GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY IS STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FALL 2010 SEMESTER - INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS UP TO $5,000 PER YEAR

We welcome all students at Grand Valley, whether it is for a year-long exchange program or bachelors degree. For students wanting to study one year at Grand Valley, we offer students the opportunity to choose courses from our flexible general education requirement as well as having the ability to choose from the hundreds of available classes.
For students wanting a degree, we offer over 200 different degree programs, where students can learn from highly qualified professors and use the advanced facilities on campus.  Grand Valley offers an affordable education and we have been named one of America*s top 100 Education Best Buy for 14 straight years.
International Merit Scholarship:
Every year, Grand Valley awards a limited number of International Merit Scholarships to incoming international students who have demonstrated an outstanding academic achievement record.
The value of this scholarship is $5,000 per year.

All students who submit a complete application for admission by May 1 are eligible for this merit-based scholarship.
In addition, students must write an essay of approximately 1,000 words on the following topic:
"What will I do to bring cultural and international perspectives to Grand Valley that will enhance the learning environment for the entire GVSU community?"

Typically, qualified students have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, but decisions are based on academic credentials, the scholarship essay and information provided in the application materials. Transfer students from U.S. four-year colleges and universities, and students being fully funded by their government are not eligible.
Renewal: Undergraduate students must maintain a 2.85 grade point average, maintain full-time enrollment, and maintain valid immigration status. Graduate students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average, maintain full-time enrollment, and valid immigration status.

KODAK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2010

Deadline: Post Marked by June 14, 2010

These highly competitive awards are given to students demonstrating superior professional filmmaking production skills and creativity.
Colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and participating countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, that offer a degree or diploma program in film, film production, or cinematography may nominate up to two students each year for consideration.

A Blue Ribbon Jury will evaluate all submitted work and make all final selections. The jury will consist of one individual from Kodak and one from the University Film & Video Association (UFVA), plus a representative from the filmmaking industry. Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, creative and technical ability, communications ability, and range of filmmaking experience.
Visual Imagery will count 50%, creative and other technical skills 25%, and the other criteria 25%.

Conditions of Entry
1.      Entries must be completed works that communicate a story or theme in some fashion -- no clips or short vignettes.
2.      Eligible institutions are colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, participating Asia Pacific countries (Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore), participating European countries (Austria, Benelux, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom) and participating Latin America countries (Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Surinam, Uruguay and Venezuela).
3.      No more than two nominees per institution.
4.      College student nominees must be fulltime undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the 2009 - 2010 academic year and planning to enroll for the 2010 - 2011 academic year in a film school's degree or diploma program.
5.      All judges' decisions are final.
6.      The names of the winners may be published on the website at
www.kodak.com/go/motion. Winners agree to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general location for publicity and news purposes in connection with the Scholarships Program.
